Measuring for Curtains
Width: Measure the full width of the pole (excluding finials) or track, not the window itself. If the track has an overlap, include that in the measurement.
Drop (Length): Measure from the bottom of pole or track to your desired length, this will be the full length of curtain when finished. (you may prefer the curtain to cover your track)
Eyelet Curtains: Measure from the top of the pole down. (we will then add 3cm to the top to give your finished length)
Drop Options
- Sill Length: 1cm above the windowsill.
- Below Sill: 15cm below the windowsill.
- Floor Length: 1cm above the floor.
Important Tips
- Measure Twice: Measure the drop on the left, right, and centre to account for uneven floors, then use the shortest measurement.
Measuring for Blinds
Blinds Inside Recess (inside window)
- Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
- Record the smallest width.
- Measure the drop at the left, middle, and right side.
- Record the smallest drop.
Blinds Outside Recess (outside window)
- Measure the width of the windowsill or measure the window frame and Add at least 4mm-8cm on each side for overlap, ensuring adequate coverage and privacy.
- Measure the required drop from where the blind will start (usually 10cm above the recess) down to the bottom of the sill.
